Your data, your account, your control

Last updated: September 30, 2026

We handle a lot of sensitive information on behalf of our Canadian players: names, banking details, wallet addresses, government ID. This page explains what we collect, why, and how it stays protected.

When you open a Royal Vegas account, we ask for the basics: full name, date of birth, email, phone number and a Canadian mailing address. We use this to confirm you meet the 19+ minimum age requirement for this market and to set up your CAD balance correctly from day one. We don't collect more than we need to run your account safely.

Why we verify identity

Before your first withdrawal, and sometimes earlier, we'll ask for a government-issued photo ID, proof of address (a recent utility bill or bank statement works), and, if you've funded your account by card, a partial image of that card. This is standard know-your-customer (KYC) practice across the online casino industry. It protects you from account takeover, stops underage play, and confirms that the person cashing out is the person who deposited. Uploaded documents are reviewed by our verification team and stored securely, never shared with marketing partners.

Payment data: Interac, cards and crypto

Most of our Canadian players fund their accounts through Interac e-Transfer, which links to your existing online banking login rather than sharing card numbers with us directly. We record the transaction reference and the confirmation email you authorize, but we never see or store your online banking password.

If you deposit by Visa or Mastercard, we store only the last four digits and expiry date for reconciliation, plus a tokenised reference from our payment processor. Full card numbers are never held on our servers in plain text.

For crypto deposits and withdrawals in Bitcoin, Ethereum or Tether (USDT), we log the wallet address you send from and the one we pay out to. Blockchain transactions are public by nature, but we don't associate your wallet address with your identity beyond what's needed to match a deposit to your account and to satisfy anti-money-laundering checks. MuchBetter transactions follow a similar pattern: we record the linked account reference, not your MuchBetter login credentials.

How long we keep your information

Account and transaction records are retained for as long as your account is active, and for a further period afterward to meet financial record-keeping obligations common across the online gambling industry. Verification documents are stored only as long as needed for compliance and are deleted from active systems once that requirement lapses. If you close your account, contact support and we'll confirm what happens to your data and when it's removed.

Who sees your data

  • Our verification and support teams, to process withdrawals and answer account queries
  • Payment processors handling Interac, card and crypto transactions on our behalf
  • Game providers such as Evolution Gaming and Pragmatic Play, limited to gameplay and session data needed to run the games fairly
  • Fraud prevention and anti-money-laundering services, where legally required
  • We do not sell player data to third-party advertisers

Security practices

Account data and payment records are encrypted in transit and at rest. Access within our team is limited by role, so customer support staff don't see the same data as our finance or verification teams. Two-factor login options and session timeouts are available on request through support to add an extra layer of protection to your account.

Cookies and site behaviour

Like most online casino sites, Royal Vegas uses cookies to keep you logged in, remember your language and CAD currency preference, and understand which games and promotions Canadian players use most. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings at any time; blocking some cookies may affect how the site functions.
